Both rapid and original tans take a full 8-12hrs to develop and to see color- the only difference is the bronzer rinse time!
With the rapid tan the rinse is based off of how dark that you want to go and you will rinse anywhere between 2-5hrs post spray. This tan is a great option for those being sprayed earlier in the day or who do not like to sit in the bronzer.
The other "pro" to the rapid is that there is a bit more flexibility and customization available with the color given that how long you leave the tan on prior to rinsing dictates the color. This means you can achieve a "medium/dark" or "light/medium" instead of strictly developing to a light, medium, or dark that is only available with the original.
With the original tan the rinse will be 8-12hrs post spray and will only develop to a specified point. This tan is a great option for those who are being sprayed later in the evening and are willing to sleep in the product.
The decision on what type of tan you want to do does not have to be made until your appointment time! This information is provided to give you something to consider when planning your day and scheduling your appointment.

Peak tan is typically 2 days post spray! It is recommended to spray at least 24hrs prior to your event. Please note that your spray should be the last to do for your "event prep" meaning plan to do the spray after any hair and nail appointments to avoid ruining the tan!
We also recommend a trial spray a month out from the event to ensure you get the exact glow that you want!

-Wax 2 days before the tanning or shave the night before: Wax residue will block tanner absorption.
-Take a shower and exfoliate properly using a body brush or quality scrub 48-72hrs prior to appointment. Removing any dead cells anybody oils will help the sunless tanner penetrate your skin and give you the best results.
-Do not use deodorant (It will turn green!!!), makeup, perfume or moisturizers prior to the tanning. Lotions can act as a barrier & prevent the solution from contacting your skin.
-You may tan in the garment of your choice or ladies may be sprayed nude. Bathing suits and underwear work well, and MEN are required to wear underwear, boxer shorts or a bathing suit.
-Wear loose fitting dark-colored clothing and flip-flops because some of the bronzer can rub off on your clothing and shoes can cause your feet to perspire affecting the results.
-To avoid age spots, freckles, moles, etc. from getting darker, apply a cosmetic concealer over the spots or areas to block the solution and give an even appearance of color.
-
Loose dark and baggy clothing should be worn to your appointment. Flip flops or loose shoes with no socks are advised if possible.
If it is raining on the day of your appointment it is advised to bring long pants and a hood as well as an umbrella with closed toe shoes.
During your appointment you can wear (or not wear) whatever is comfortable for you! Our goal is to make you feel most comfortable and if that is in a bikini you brought with you or bottoms with no top or completely nude that is completely your call (EXCEPTION - Biological males must wear bottoms of some sort)! Disposable undies and bras are available upon request.
-
The color your see immediately after your appointment is not the color you will actually be! That is just bronzer (same thing as makeup bronzer) that is in the solution so that we can see where we are spraying you. The ingredient that tans you (DHA) is actually clear. You will take 8-12hrs to develop, however; you may start to see some color coming on a few hours after your spray.
After your initial rinse with no product you may see brown go down the drain - have no fear! This is normal and just the bronzer washing off and not your tan. Especially with the rapid solution it is normal to not look much different after that initial rinse because the product is still developing. Try not to panic and wait till the next day and we promise there will be color!
-
DHA - the ingredient that actually tans you in the solution - works by bonding with your dead skin layer so the key to a great spray tan is keeping that skin layer nice and healthy! This is why you were instructed to prep your skin prior to your appointment. With good aftercare you should get at least 7-10 days out of your tan - possibly longer if you keep up with the care!

IMMEDIATELY AFTER TANNING
-Do not wash your hands for 4 hours (exception: rapid tan - consult with technician on specific time)
-Do not put on tight clothing for least 4 hours (exception: rapid tan - consult with technician on specific time)
-Do not exercise (first day). Perspiring immediately after tanning alters the chemical reaction of the solution changing its color
-Do not swim in water or soak in a Jacuzzi or bathtub. Chlorine from a pool or Jacuzzi can cause your tan to fade faster
-Do not apply moisturizer after first rinse
-Refrain from any rubbing action of body skin during “tan time” (8-12 hours) to achieve best result (exception: rapid tan - consult with technician on specific time)
-Do not carry a clutch or heavy purse or backpack under arm or over shoulders as this will cause “rub off, of solution.MAINTAIN AND PROLONG YOUR TAN
-Wait at least 8 hours before showering (exception: rapid tan - consult with technician on specific time). It is recommended to wait until at least the next day.
-You may see color washing off the first time you shower - this is normal and just the bronzer base (essentially like makeup) washing off and in fact the first shower should be a rinse with no product where you used your hands to get the bronzer completely off.
-Do not take long hot baths or showers (i.e. spend long periods of time in hot tub during vacation) -Do not use exfoliate with loofahs, body scrubs, body washes or soaps with exfoliating beads until your tan starts to fade away.
-Pat dry after showering.
-Limit the shaving of your legs, as this is also a form of exfoliating - if you must shave be sure to use a sharp razor.
-Apply moisturizer after your shower and every day after your tanning session - even twice a day if you can. This will help prolong the tan!
